The project aims to integrate E-Cooking and E-Mobility into Mozambique’s electricity system, with the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable development. The project will include the installation of charging stations for electric vehicles and the distribution of electric cooking appliances. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and the National Institute for Energy (INE).
The total budget for the project is EUR 5 000 000, which will be financed by the European Union (EU) and the Government of Mozambique. The project duration is 36 months.
The project will be implemented in the following phases:
1. Preparation and Planning (Months 1-6): This phase will involve detailed planning, stakeholder engagement, and the development of a detailed project implementation plan.
2. Infrastructure Development (Months 7-24): This phase will focus on the construction and installation of charging stations for electric vehicles and the distribution of electric cooking appliances.
3. Monitoring and Evaluation (Months 25-36): This phase will involve the monitoring and evaluation of the project's impact, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the promotion of sustainable development.
The project will be led by the Ministry of Energy, with technical support from the National Institute for Energy (INE) and the European Union (EU).
The project will create jobs and stimulate economic growth in Mozambique by promoting the adoption of clean energy technologies. It will also contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The project will be open to all interested stakeholders, including private companies, non-governmental organizations, and local communities. The project will promote public-private partnerships and encourage the participation of local communities in the implementation of the project.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance. All project activities will be conducted in a transparent and accountable manner, with regular reporting to stakeholders.
