Genstanden for opfyldelsen af offentlige opgørelser, der udskrives i DNS, vil være skabelsen af BIM-modeller af den faktiske tilstand af de enkelte bygninger (administrative bygninger) hos Bestilleren i form af pasportisering, og det typisk på baggrund af bearbejdelse af tilgængelig eksisterende dokumentation (inklusive dokumentation i analog form) og fokus på den faktiske tilstand af en specifik bygning ved hjælp af 3D-laserscanning. DNS er ikke opdelt i kategorier.
