The surfacing is heavily damaged in many areas, so it must be renewed. There are many holes where water cannot seep away because the slag has become extremely compacted. In summer, during periods of great dryness, all the dust is blown around. In winter, all the water stands on the surface and, when it freezes, there is a huge sheet of ice. There is also no lighting in the yard. Lighting is only available at the buildings and at the harbour. The yard is unlit.
