General description of the construction project: As a replacement for a kindergarten built in 1969, the municipality of Mutterstadt intends to construct a new 7-group daycare centre with a canteen on the site of the former municipal depot at Pestalozzistraße in 67112 Mutterstadt. In addition, the Pestalozzi primary school, located diagonally opposite, is to be extended by 4 classrooms and 4 care rooms in a new building. The primary school and the associated gymnasium were recently renovated. Access to the new buildings will be via the schoolyard, which thus takes on the function of a central hub. The new canteen and daycare centre will be located along Pestalozzistraße and will create a clear separation between the street space and the garden area, and will be divided into two parts: The canteen/auditorium is located between the existing gymnasium and the daycare centre, faces the schoolyard and is also accessed from there. The kindergarten adapts to the small-scale surrounding buildings with three "houses" and orients its group rooms towards the green space. A car parking zone will be set up on the corner plot at Fußgönheimer Straße / Schillerstraße for picking up and dropping off children and for kitchen deliveries. The staff parking spaces for the daycare centre are also located there.
