The city of Winterberg intends to expand the existing Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium to adapt the school landscape to the requirements of modern pedagogy (keyword: Cluster School) and to eliminate spatial bottlenecks. The new building is planned as a concrete structure with facing brickwork. It will be founded on rock and partly on non-load-bearing subsoil. To improve this, vibro stone columns are to economically post-compact and stabilise the subsoil. The classrooms have a clear room height of three metres, each with two large rectangular three-part wood-aluminium windows and external sun protection. The roof will be designed as a green flat roof. Inside, the rooms have an acoustically effective suspended ceiling and an elastic floor covering. For the new building, a KfW40 standard is targeted. Heat generation will be via air heat pumps. As heat emission surfaces, underfloor heating and radiators in combination are targeted. The internal sanitary rooms will be equipped with a ventilation system, all other rooms will have window ventilation.
