The State of Saxony-Anhalt intends to modernise the inter-company training centre (hereinafter "ÜBS") for the LLG Iden (State Institute for Agriculture and Horticulture Saxony-Anhalt) as an accredited and regionally effective educational institution with a model function for agriculture. As part of this, the dairy and cattle husbandry area will be newly built and expanded. The aim is to create a modern and future-oriented dairy husbandry as the basis for training, research and demonstration. The core component of the stable facility is the technological process of milk production, including the associated milking technology. In this context, both the automatic and the conventional milking method will be taught. In addition, the training covers topics such as animal treatment, animal assessment, hoof care, dealing with cows with special requirements (Special-Needs cows) as well as feeding in theory and practice. The maximum group size of the training courses is 12 trainees with supervision by 1 to 2 trainers. As part of the dairy facility, the planned stable for dry cows (BE 10.11) will be designed for up to 50 animals. A two-level stall with a plan-hardened feeding alley and a strawed resting area will be available to the dry cows. In addition, the animals will have access to a partially covered run with generally free use. Grazing is optionally possible. The technical systems are to be designed to be animal-friendly, durable and low-maintenance. Work safety is of particular importance, especially with regard to use as a training centre. To reduce emissions, stable floors are to be constructed in accordance with the state of the art in the sense of environmental and climate protection.
