Poland – Construction work for water projects – Przebudowa obiektów małej retencji w Nadleśnictwie Włocławek – obiekty nr 4, 5, 7, 8, 9

3.1. The subject of the contract is construction works consisting of „Reconstruction of small retention facilities in the Włocławek Forest District – facilities no. 4, 5, 7, 8, 9", and in particular culverts and sluices. 3.2. Small retention means actions improving the water retention capacity in small natural and artificial reservoirs and its impoundment in riverbeds, streams, canals and ditches for later release into the environment. The main aim of the construction investment is to improve the moisture of forest soils, change the unfavourable, rapid surface water runoff from forest areas to a delayed runoff, diversify the elements of the forest ecosystem and have a beneficial effect on biological diversity. 3.3. The contract is carried out within the framework of the project "Comprehensive project for the adaptation of forests and forestry to climate change – small retention and counteracting water erosion in lowland areas – continuation (MRN3)", the beneficiary of which is the State Forest Holding Lasy Państwowe. The aim of the project is to strengthen the resilience of lowland forest ecosystems to climate change-related threats. The actions taken are aimed at preventing or minimizing the negative effects of phenomena such as the destructive action of flood waters, floods, inundations, droughts and fires. The direct effect of the implementation of the entire project is to retain 2.1 million m3 of water on a national scale. The total planned cost of the project is 234.7 million PLN, including the maximum amount of qualifying expenditure: 170 million PLN. The maximum amount of project co-financing from European funds is 144.5 million PLN. The estimated value of the entire Project should not be equated with the value of this contract.
