General-Oberst-Beck kasarmi maa-ala hõlmab umbes 31 ha ja asub Sonthofeni lõunaosas kõrgendikul. Kasarmuhoone ise on praegu renoveerimisel ja koosneb nii ajaloolistest hoonetest kui ka uushoonetest, mida kasutatakse sõjalistel eesmärkidel. Osa hoonetest on veel renoveerimisel, teine osa on juba kasutuses, mistõttu on juurdepääs maale turvalisuse tagamiseks kontrollitud. Ajaloolistes hoonetes 5+8 on vaja katusekandevate konstruktsioonide remonti katuse tiheduse tõttu. Katused on kaetud Biberschwanz katusekividega ja neil on puitkandev konstruktsioon. Kuna katusealad on uue kasutuse eesmärgil, tuleb projekteerimisel arvestada ehitusfüüsiliste, tuleohutuse ja statiliste nõuetega. Praegune katusekate jääb säilitada. Katusekonstruktsiooni edasise planeerimise ja esitatud nõuete arvestamine on ülesande tuum.

The area of the General-Oberst-Beck Kaserne covers approximately 31 ha and is located on a hill in the south of Sonthofen. The barracks building itself is currently being renovated and consists of both historic buildings and new buildings, which are used for military purposes. Part of the buildings is still under renovation, while the other part is already in use, which is why access to the area is monitored for security reasons. In the historic buildings 5+8 of the property, renovation work is required on the roof structure due to roof leaks. The pitched roofs are covered with Biberschwanz tiles and have a wooden supporting structure. Due to the intended use of roof areas as part of the renovation, building physics, fire protection and static requirements must be taken into account. The existing roof covering remains. The planning of the further roof construction taking into account the requirements given is the core of the task.
