EUR-Lex is the official legal database of the EU, which provides access to EU law, case law, and other public documents. The aim of this contract is to provide legal metadata enrichment for EUR-Lex and other EU platforms, which will improve the search and retrieval of legal information. The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

- The development of a metadata schema that will be used to enrich the legal documents in EUR-Lex and other EU platforms.

- The creation of a metadata enrichment tool that will allow for the automatic and manual enrichment of legal documents.

- The enrichment of legal documents with metadata, including but not limited to, keywords, subject matter, and legal references.

- The implementation of a quality control process to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the enriched metadata.

- The provision of training and support to users of the enriched legal documents.

- The maintenance and updating of the metadata schema and enrichment tool.

The contract will have a duration of 36 months, with a possible extension of 12 months. The estimated value of the contract is EUR 1,500,000.00. The deadline for the submission of tenders is 15:00 (Brussels time) on 15/03/2024.
