Norddjurs Kommune has been working continuously on climate adaptation for the past 10 years, with a focus on handling inland water, shallow groundwater, storm surges, and permanent sea-level rise. In December 2023, Norddjurs Kommune received a grant of 12.2 million kr. from the Miljøministeriets kystpulje. Together with the municipality's own financing, the total budget is 42.05 million kr. On this basis, a tender was initiated for the preparation of, among other things, project proposals and a delimitation note for an environmental impact assessment (VVM). The purpose of this tender is to appoint a principal consultant who will carry out an environmental impact assessment of the overall storm surge protection and manage project management, project design, and implementation.
