Regiobus Hannover GmbH is a public transport company for and in the region of Hannover. Together with other transport companies, regiobus Hannover GmbH operates public local transport in the "Großraum-Verkehr Hannover" (GVH) transport association. Regiobus Hannover GmbH was established in 1998 and was formed from the merger of three transport companies and a service company. Regiobus Hannover GmbH is based at six locations, with the administration in Hannover and the depots in Burgdorf, Mellendorf, Neustadt am Rbge., Wunstorf and Eldagsen. The company employs approximately 800 staff. With almost 400 vehicles used in scheduled services (of which 260 are owned), around 28 million passengers are transported annually. To provide its services, regiobus Hannover GmbH also uses other bus companies, which currently operate 130 vehicles for regiobus Hannover GmbH in the rural transport services in the region of Hannover. Currently, approximately one third of the transport services are provided by 6 companies, which together achieve 7.4 million operating vehicle-kilometres annually. The subject of the current tender procedure is the provision of transport services in scheduled services in accordance with §§ 42, 43 Personenbeförderungsgesetz (PBefG).
