A **tendering procedure with a selection competition** pursuant to **§ 17 and § 74 VgV**, a project management for the expansion and renovation of the specialist classrooms at the Gymnasium Unterrieden in Sindelfingen is to be procured. The Gymnasium Unterrieden was built in 1979 and consists of a three-storey main building and a three-court sports hall. In the 2025/2026 school year, a total of 769 students attend the Gymnasium Unterrieden. The grades 5 to 12 are conducted in four streams. With the introduction of the nine-year Gymnasium (G9) in the 2025/2026 school year, the number of students will change, but the four-stream structure of the school will remain. The natural science specialist classrooms are largely in their original condition and do not meet either today's educational requirements or current technical standards. The required specialist classrooms can basically be accommodated by a restructuring of the existing areas within the existing buildings. In addition, based on the model room programme for a four-stream Gymnasium in G9 operation, space requirements arise in the areas of all-day rooms, differentiation rooms and an additional classroom. In 2025, a preliminary investigation was carried out by the office of Zimmermann and Nagel Architects. The results were presented to the municipal bodies in October 2025 and a fundamental decision was made to carry out a general renovation of the natural science specialist rooms and to expand the school as part of the introduction of G9. The specialist classrooms are to be comprehensively renovated and restructured. To cover the additional space requirement, the existing school is to be expanded by a compact two-storey new building, which is to be used as an interim building during the renovation of the specialist classrooms. The urban integration and the concrete design of the building structures are to be examined in variants in the further planning process. The construction measure is to be implemented during ongoing school operations. For this purpose, a construction and moving concept with suitable construction sections and relocations is to be developed in order to keep the impairments to the school operations as low as possible. Room enlargements within the existing structure are possible by moving corridor walls; an extension of the existing areas by moving the outer facades is not planned. The specialist classrooms to be renovated in the existing building comprise a usable area of around 1,400 m². To cover the additional space requirement, the extension new building with a required usable area of around 540 m² is planned. The gross costs for the general renovation of the specialist classrooms, including the extension new building, amount to a total of around 12.3 million euros for cost groups 200 to 700, as determined in the preliminary investigation. The planning will start immediately after the award of the contract. The selection committee is scheduled for week 42/2026, the bidder talks are scheduled to take place in week 48/2026, according to the current status. Bidding as a consortium is possible (the form 234 is to be completed accordingly). In the case of consortiums, the information and references apply in total for the ARGE. The reference is also considered fulfilled if the service was provided as the responsible project manager in another office. In this case, a written confirmation from the other office or the client must be submitted regarding the responsible project management (form I.3 EU is to be completed).
