Integrowanie E-Cooking i E-Mobility do systemu energetycznego Mozambiku

The European Union (EU) is seeking to fund a project that aims to integrate E-Cooking and E-Mobility into Mozambique’s electricity system. The project will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Mozambique, the National Energy Fund (FUNER), and the Electricity Regulatory Authority (ARENE).

The project will have a duration of 48 months and will be implemented in three phases. The first phase will focus on the development of a comprehensive assessment of the current status of the electricity system in Mozambique, including the identification of key challenges and opportunities for the integration of E-Cooking and E-Mobility. The second phase will involve the design and implementation of pilot projects in selected areas to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of integrating E-Cooking and E-Mobility. The third phase will focus on the scaling up of successful pilot projects and the development of a roadmap for the widespread adoption of E-Cooking and E-Mobility in Mozambique.

The project will have a total budget of EUR 1,500,000. The EU will provide EUR 1,200,000 in funding, while the remaining EUR 300,000 will be co-financed by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Mozambique, FUNER, and ARENE.

The project is expected to contribute to the following results:

- Improved access to electricity for households and businesses in Mozambique;

- Increased use of renewable energy sources in the electricity system;

- Reduced greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity sector;

- Enhanced energy security and reliability;

- Strengthened institutional capacity for the regulation and management of the electricity sector.

The project will be implemented in the following provinces of Mozambique: Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala, Manica, Tete, Zambezia, Nampula, Cabo Delgado, and Niassa.

The deadline for the submission of proposals is 15 December 2023.
