Howest, a West-Vlaanderen University of Applied Sciences, wishes to expand its student housing in Brugge to meet the demand within the organization. On 15 September 2026, higher education institutions can apply for an interest-free loan to acquire basic student housing (with shared sanitary facilities and kitchen), and Howest wishes to participate in this call. Howest intends to enter into a partnership with a private partner to acquire a building with land and appurtenances, suitable for operating at least 100 student rooms with basic comfort, near the Brugge Station campus.
