Consultancy at the highest government level will be carried out in countries in Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Currently, the consultancy is taking place in the countries of Ukraine, Belarus (currently suspended), Moldova, Georgia (currently suspended), Uzbekistan and Kosovo. From 2027, the consultancy is scheduled to take place in the countries of Ukraine, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia. With the provision of additional budget funds, Armenia is envisaged as a further programme country. The core and prerequisite for the acceptance of the consultancy by the governments of the target countries is the independence and demand orientation of the consultancy. The consultancy is provided on request and demand from institutions of the partner country. The specific topics for economic policy consultancy are primarily proposed by institutions and government agencies of the partner countries to the AN or the BMWE. Thus, the government consultancy complements the range of instruments for promoting foreign trade, which are primarily aimed at companies. The AN acts as an independent actor in the execution of the contract. The AN must refer to the contractual relationship in coordination with the AG.
