Belgien – Bohrungen – Recompletion of DZH4 – Work-over Rig Services

FLUXYS wishes to perform a workover operation on its natural gas storage facility in WUUSTWEZEL (Loenhout), about 30 km from Antwerp near the Dutch border. The subsurface installations of the Underground Gas Storage of Loenhout consist of different types of wells depending on their function and the geological layer they reach: Dinantian Exploitation wells, He1 zone (Cretaceous) monitoring wells, Dinantian Gas Water Contact monitoring wells, Dinantian Peripheral monitoring wells, Namurian monitoring wells, Cretaceous monitoring wells and Eocene monitoring wells. The campaign focuses on one recompletion of a Dinantian Gas Water Contact monitoring well: DZH4. Following a well inspection campaign in 2023, it was found that the well DZH4 was presenting an increased level of corrosion (pittings) on the completion tubings. Therefore 2 recommendations were made: inject corrosion inhibitors in the well similarly to what is made on production / injection wells and replace the completion equipment within a 3-5 years period. FLUXYS has now decided to proceed with these workover operations to change the completion equipment of the well. The preparation and procurement phases of the operations are planned during 2025-2026 with an expected start of operations during Q3 2027.
