The gymnasium in Neukirchen was constructed in 1970 and has since only been partially maintained. Given the age of the facility, the visible structural damage, and the current requirements for school and club sports, a comprehensive renovation and functional reorganisation of the existing building is being sought. The following needs have been established as a result:

>> the repair of structural components (masonry, reinforced concrete supports, beam bearings, roof waterproofing),

>> the demolition and reconstruction of the interior spaces in the hall area and ancillary rooms,

>> the restructuring of the changing and sanitary facilities in the southern annex,

>> the structural extension in the northern area to accommodate a larger equipment room and possibly technical areas,

>> the renewal of the technical building equipment (heating, ventilation, sanitary, electrical, lighting),

>> the energy-efficient measures on the building envelope and technical systems,

>> the equipment of the hall interior (sports floor, impact walls, sports facilities).
