Germany – Security services – Weihnachtsmarkt 2026-Dienstleistung von Sicherheitsdiensten

The contract involves the security support and monitoring of the 2026 Bochum Christmas Market, which will take place from 19 November to 23 December 2026 in the city centre of Bochum (the Christmas Market will be closed on Totensonntag, 22.11.2026). The event area covers approximately 30,500 m2 and includes around 200 stands as well as well-known attractions, including the "Flying Christmas Man". It is a traditional, family-oriented event with very high visitor numbers, particularly in the evenings on weekends. The Christmas Market is organised by Bochum Marketing GmbH (BoMa) and is one of the largest pre-Christmas events in North Rhine-Westphalia. Due to the high number of visitors (up to 50,000 people at peak times), the city centre location and the nationwide increased security requirements, the Christmas Market is classified by the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as an "event with increased potential for danger". The security concept is based on the "Safety of Large Outdoor Events Guidelines for Municipal Planning, Approval, Implementation and Follow-up" of the Ministry for the Interior and Municipal Affairs of NRW from 2012.
