Netherlands – Construction work – 31189732: VenR Spoorwegviaduct A44 (WNZ)

The A44 was constructed in the period from 1935 as the Rijksweg A4 and is therefore one of the oldest motorways in the Netherlands. The Rijksweg includes, among other things, an artwork from the project scope, namely the Railway Viaduct, which was built in the 1930s (1933-1939). The artwork was not built with current use in mind. Research has shown that the Railway Viaduct is approaching the end of its service life. The main objective of the project is to make the Railway Viaduct structurally safe in a timely manner and to make it comply with the current standards for structural safety, so that the A44 is again available in accordance with the regular regime.
