Description

The Building Department of the Canton of Zurich, represented by the Construction Office, is organising on behalf of the University of Zurich a tender for the award of the general planning service (design, tendering and realisation) for stabilising measures II of the institute buildings at the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich. A general planning team consisting of specialists in planning services in the fields of architecture, construction management and HVACSE with experience of stabilising measures during the ongoing operation of listed buildings, preferably of institute buildings with multiple users, is sought. The general planning should carry out the design with a high level of technical and organisational competence, sensitivity towards the various users and authorities, and realise the implementation of the construction project in a sustainable, cost- and quality-conscious and timely manner.

Construction project

The institute buildings at the Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich from the late 1970s require a complete refurbishment after decades of use. This is planned for the period 2036 – 2039. Until then, stabilising measures should ensure safe operation. The area of the Botanical Garden is listed in the inventory of gardens and facilities of local importance and is subject to the requirements of garden and monument conservation. Among other things, the building envelope, lines and fire protection must be examined and upgraded under these framework conditions.
