Lighting for Tunnels

As part of this Procurement, the Municipality intends to purchase ‘Tunnel Lighting’. The Contract consists of the supply of the materials and fittings required for the lighting of a tunnel or underpass, as specified in the Technical Specifications, and, where necessary, based on a lighting plan drawn up by the supplier. The installation of the lighting is not within the scope of this contract.

Project Description

Most of the lighting in Amsterdam has been replaced by LED lighting in recent years. However, the lighting of several smaller tunnels and underpasses was outside the scope of this work. These tunnels and underpasses now also require LED lighting. Initially, this involves approximately 20 tunnels and/or underpasses, with an expected increase in the coming four to six years. However, replacement will only take place when the current lighting fails, so the exact scale cannot be specified. In addition, there are specific additional tasks required: inspecting and advising per location, where a lighting plan is drawn up by the supplier. Furthermore, the supplier will also be responsible for the delivery of the required materials. The maintenance contractor will handle the installation, which is therefore outside the scope of this procurement.
