The Ludwig-Reinhard-Schule is a special needs school focusing on intellectual development and a learning centre for 172 students. Due to the intensive support, almost 100 educators and specialists are employed here. The existing building complex can be divided into several parts: the West Wing (built in 1967, three-storey) will be extensively renovated and expanded to the west, the Southwest Wing (built in 1987, two-storey plus basement) will be renovated, the Northwest Wing (built in 1967, single-storey) with a small sports hall and auditorium will be demolished and the auditorium will be rebuilt. The North Wing (built in 2000, single-storey) will remain untouched by the renovation measures, but will temporarily house 3 primary school classes during the construction period. The new double sports hall is planned as a freestanding structure in the southeast of the property. The BRI of the existing building is 18,535 m². After renovation and expansion including the sports hall 37,634 m².
