Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – Planung zur Errichtung eines Präsentationsortes für das Wismut Erbe am Standort Ronneburg der Wismut GmbH, Los 3: Leistungsbild Technische Ausrüstung der Anlagengruppen 1, 2, 3 und 7

On 20 September 2017, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free States of Thuringia and Saxony, and Wismut GmbH agreed to develop a concept for dealing with the historical legacy of uranium mining in eastern Germany. This resulted in the establishment of the Wismut Stiftung gGmbH in 2021, whose task is to preserve, research and communicate the Wismut legacy. Since 1990, Wismut GmbH has been carrying out a globally renowned remediation of the affected areas - an example of this is the Neue Landschaft Ronneburg. At the entrance to this site, a new presentation and memorial site is to be created, operated by the Wismut Stiftung gGmbH and built by the Wismut GmbH. It is to serve as a place of learning, remembrance and co-creation. According to the implementation concept and joint agreement of the city of Ronneburg, Wismut GmbH, the Bergbauverein Ronneburg and the Bergbautraditionsverein, there was unanimous agreement on the entrance to the Neue Landschaft as the planning area for the new presentation site due to the overriding location advantages (authenticity, visibility, reference point and synergies). The project site is located on the historic site of a manor house built in 1721 in the district of Friedrichshaide. The former manor house with the environmental education facility "Grüne Klasse Ronneburg" is located on the property, which already offers a wide range of natural and environmental education. An adjacent, renovated barn from the time of the manor house houses the Wismut*Objekt 90, a small museum on the history of the SAG/SDAG Wismut - from the beginnings of uranium mining to the remediation of the legacies. One of two central presentation sites of the Wismut legacy is to be created at the entrance to the Neue Landschaft Ronneburg. While in Aue-Bad Schlema (Shaft 371) a permanent exhibition in the UNESCO World Heritage Ensemble shows the Technical Monument, a versatile, experiential and participatory learning and communication centre is being created in Ronneburg.
