Switzerland – Laboratory, optical and precision equipments (excl. glasses) – Un système XPS de pointe équipé d'une source UV pour l'UPS, d'un canon à ions monoatomiques et d'un canon à agrégats gazeux pour le profilage en profondeur

The Institute of Chemical Sciences and Engineering (ISIC) of the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Lausanne (EPFL) intends to acquire a state-of-the-art XPS system equipped with a UV source for UPS, a monoatomic ion source, and a gas cluster source for depth profiling. The device will be operated in open access and serve around 40 research groups, mainly from the ISIC and the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering (IMX), as well as other users from the entire EPFL. Given this open, multi-user environment, ease of use of hardware and software, low risk of misoperation, limited measurement artifacts, and quick and efficient user changeover are therefore central prerequisites. Due to the great diversity of research conducted at the EPFL, the chosen device should support a wide range of functions. It should not be limited to a particular type of measurement, nor should it limit future expansions and developments.
