On the site of the former Luzenberg gasworks in Mannheim, there are extensive contamination areas with gasworks residues covering approximately 5 ha. The existing remediation consists of an in-situ microbiological remediation of the main contamination areas in the groundwater-saturated zone and the above-ground groundwater treatment in the groundwater remediation plant. The existing groundwater treatment plant has been in operation since January 2010 and is currently operating at a throughput of approximately 46.5 m³/h. The water is extracted via a total of 15 wells, oxygenated, treated, carbonated, and then re-infiltrated via a total of 37 infiltration wells. The operation is accompanied by expert third-party monitoring. These expert services with a performance period from 01.12.2026 to 30.09.2031 will be tendered accordingly in this invitation to tender.
