Germany – Architectural, construction, engineering and inspection services – WBV Wiehengebirge - Ersatzneubau Wasserwerk Haddenhausen
Description
General
The Water Supply Association (WBV) Wiehengebirge is a public corporation under the Water and Soil Association Act. The WBV Wiehengebirge supplies water to approximately 16,500 people on the northern edge of the Wiehengebirge via two waterworks and one spring. In addition, there are interconnected pipelines to two adjacent water suppliers. The WBV Wiehengebirge plans to replace and rebuild the Haddenhausen waterworks on the existing waterworks site, Wiesenstr. 60, 32429 Minden-Haddenhausen. The four wells and well pipelines will be retained.
Planning Basis
The planning tasks include the design of the building (civil engineering and structural design), the technical equipment process engineering, and the technical equipment electrical engineering (EMSR technology/control technology). After the construction of the waterworks, a conversion of the four well water pipelines and the drinking water pipeline will be carried out. A process diagram is shown in Annex 1. 55 to 90 m³/h of raw water from four existing wells is to be passed through flat-bed aerators, in which excess carbon dioxide is degassed and iron and manganese contained in the raw water are oxidised. These are separated in the subsequent redundantly designed filter vessels. The treated water is fed into two purified water tanks and from there pumped into the network or to the reservoir by means of purified water pumps. A settling pond/pool is to be planned for backwashing the filter vessels. Possibly, the existing purified water tank could later be used as a settling pond. The existing waterworks building will be dismantled after the completion of the new construction work and the commissioning of the new waterworks. The plant should be designed to be as level as possible, as the subsoil with partly tensioned groundwater conditions, high groundwater level and only low cover horizon above the main groundwater conductor is not suitable for large-scale excavation. The waterworks will be equipped with a new substation by the network operator Westfalen Weser Netz. An external power supply possibility is to be planned in order to be able to operate the waterworks in an emergency by means of a standby power system. The WBV Wiehengebirge has a central control system, into which the control of the new waterworks is to be integrated. Work on the project is to begin immediately upon order. The construction costs are estimated at approximately 2.8 million EUR net.
