Germany – Water-well drilling – Neubau Rebstockbad, hier: Umbau einer Forschungsbohrung zu einer geothermischen Koaxialsonde

The BäderBetriebe Frankfurt GmbH plans to cover part of the heat demand for the new Rebstockbad Frankfurt through geothermal energy. A multi-layered system is planned for this purpose. A shallow 100 m geothermal probe (EWS) field consisting of 16 probes in the northern part of the site has been established for cooling during the summer months. In addition, two 399 m deep probe fields are currently being constructed to provide approximately one-third of the annual heat demand. These consist of 9 EWS in the North Field and 11 further EWS in the South Field. Each field will be connected to a heat pump to bring the extracted geothermal energy to the required supply temperature level. This tender concerns the backfilling of the existing 1,060 m deep research borehole on the site down to 850 m, and the subsequent conversion into an 850 m deep coaxial probe. The heat obtained will then be used to regenerate the 399 m deep South Field.
