Ireland – Repair and maintenance services of motorcycles – Request for Tenders dated 01/10/2026 for the provision of maintenance services for Met Eireann’s environmental monitoring instrumentation and related infrastructure at Bray Head, Valentia Island

Met Éireann has committed significant resources to its programmes that support Ireland’s Atmospheric Composition and Climate Change (AC3) network and national research and monitoring infrastructure. These resources include buildings, equipment and staff that espouse international coordinated programmes which include; the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme, the “European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme” (EMEP), Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) and GHG emissions and Short Lived Climate Forcers (SLCF) monitoring. These programmes have developed incrementally and have adhered to best practice from pan-European and global monitoring programmes. Details of some of these programmes are included in Appendix 1 of the RFT. Met Éireann has a dedicated facility at Bray Head on Valentia Island, which is shortly to be verified as an ICOS Class 2 site, which hosts monitoring equipment for monitoring atmospheric gases and aerosols. The data can also be used for emissions verification, through an inverse modelling process, of greenhouse gases and pollutants and facilitate the calculation of Ireland’s emissions and Ireland’s greenhouse gas inventories and projections. The tender relates to the provision of support services, data validation, calibration and maintenance for some of the instrumentation and associated data streams.
