With the construction project "New construction of a station building", the Evangelische Krankenhaus Mettmann aims to expand and ensure the long-term neurological care in the district of Mettmann. In addition, the new building will feature a geriatric ward and diagnostic facilities. The production kitchen, which is responsible for supplying patients, staff, and external customers, will be located on the ground floor. As part of the new construction, the existing single-story, dilapidated kitchen building will be carefully demolished at this location. A four-story station building will be erected here, designed to allow for the addition of a fourth floor. The use of each floor should be reflected in the facade. The ground floor is fully clad in brick, thus forming a plinth. On the north side, this plinth is continued into the first floor, so that the technical floor is also enclosed in the brick facade.
