The procurement requirement of Province of Zeeland involves conducting a study on the space and carrying capacity for recreation in the Natura 2000 areas of Manteling van Walcheren, Kop van Schouwen, Oosterschelde and Grevelingen. The study will, for a minimum of 1 year, illustrate the relationship between recreational use and ecological carrying capacity, with particular attention to bird species, disturbance, habitat use and possibilities for recreational dispersion. The assignment results in objective, reproducible analyses, map material, datasets and policy-oriented recommendations to support nature management and policy development. The assignment concerns a research and advisory assignment with an estimated value of € 450.000, excluding VAT. The assignment involves conducting an integral study on the space and carrying capacity for recreation in four Natura 2000 areas in Zeeland (Manteling van Walcheren, Kop van Schouwen, Oosterschelde and Grevelingen). The activities consist of preliminary research, methodology development, data collection for a minimum of 1 year, analysis, GIS map production, reporting and policy-oriented advice. The duration is a maximum of 22 months.
