Germany – Sewerage work – Grundleitungssanierung (KG 410)

The Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte at Holstenwall 24 in Hamburg was constructed between 1914 and 1922 and is a listed building. As part of the current construction project, a comprehensive renovation and restructuring of the exhibition areas is being carried out, as well as a renewal of the building's technical equipment. The building comprises the following main uses:

Basement: Functional and storage areas, workshops, restoration rooms, office space, depots, kitchen and technical areas (heating/cooling, ventilation, sanitation, electrical).

Ground floor: Areas for special and temporary exhibitions, gastronomy with kitchen, foyer, shop and event area.

First and second floors: Areas for exhibitions and administrative offices.

Attic: Further exhibition areas, administrative offices, storage and workshop rooms.

The construction is carried out in two phases.

KG 410 Sewer renovation: As part of the construction project, the existing site drainage system is to be comprehensively renovated. The drainage continues to be carried out in a separate system for wastewater and rainwater. Due to detected damage and leaks in the inspected pipes, renovation of the site drainage system is necessary. The measure includes the renovation of the wastewater and rainwater drainage system inside and outside the building, including the main lines running under the floor slab and the associated manholes. The renovation is carried out predominantly in closed construction using the slip lining method. To carry out the work, openings in the floor slab and the creation of excavation pits are required at selected points to provide the necessary access to the pipes. In addition, inspection openings are created in downpipes. In the outdoor area, the main lines are renovated predominantly via existing manholes and rainwater downpipes. In the courtyard area, additional civil engineering work is required to renovate the pipes in the inflow area of the pump station. In addition, existing manholes are repaired, the channels are renewed and the manhole walls are renovated. The services include all necessary preparatory work, the renovation work including all materials, as well as the necessary tightness and quality certificates. The work is carried out in close coordination with the participating MEP trades and the building construction. Coordination services are part of the tendered services.

- Opening of floor slabs and creation of necessary excavation pits

- Renewal of manhole channels

- Repair and renovation of manholes

- Carrying out tightness tests and documentation of the work carried out

- Coordination of the work with the adjacent trades

Phase 1 (inside): by 28.02.2027 at the latest
