Description

Munich Airport GmbH plans extensive roof renovation measures at the existing Flight Operation Center (FOC), an air traffic control building with an underground car park. The building consists of two main complexes connected by a glazed air traffic hall and connecting bridges. The aim of the measure is to restore a functional, durable and economical roof structure taking into account technical, energy and safety requirements. As part of the renovation, various flat roof areas are to be refurbished. These include intensively landscaped roof gardens and terraces above the underground car park, the condition of which has been impaired by water ingress. The renovation also includes the roof areas north and south of the glass roof over the air traffic hall, as well as the roofs over the stairwells and connecting bridges. The existing roof structures will be checked and renewed according to current technical standards. Another focus is on the renovation of the glass roofs. The barrel-shaped main glass roof over the air traffic hall, including the smoke and heat exhaust systems and the steel substructure, will be refurbished. Smaller glass roofs at ground floor level will also be renovated if necessary, particularly with regard to safety. In addition, the fixed ladders in defined escape routes will be checked and renewed if necessary. The measure also includes the refurbishment of the roof drainage, the installation of emergency drainage, the planning and renewal of the lightning protection system and electrical work such as the roof inlet heating and construction power supply. The integration of a future photovoltaic system will be taken into account in the planning. As part of the renovation, fall protection measures, energy-saving measures (thermal insulation, energy balancing), fire protection requirements and the safety and health protection coordination (SiGeKo) will also be taken into account. The services include a detailed survey of all relevant building parts and roof structures, the establishment of the construction site including scaffolding and protective measures, as well as the professional execution of the roof renovation according to the currently valid flat roof directive. The planning services include the project planning (Section 33 HOAI), the planning of the technical building equipment (Section 53 HOAI) and the structural planning (Section 49 HOAI) in the performance phases 1 to 8. No building permit is required for performance phase 4. The services are supplemented by special services, such as participation in energy-efficient renovation and the involvement of in-house specialist planners for building physics and fire protection. Changes to the planning status are reserved.
