The subject of this tender is the execution of faunistic surveys as part of the planned expansion of the A7 with an additional lane in the section from north of the Hildesheim junction to west of the Wöhlertal bridge (VKE1). The provision of faunistic services serves as the basis for the landscape management contributions, particularly for the landscape management accompanying plan (LBP) and the species protection expert report (ASB). To determine the required faunistic surveys and the respective scope of investigation, a faunistic spatial planning analysis was carried out in advance. The results of this faunistic spatial planning analysis (Annex 1) serve as the basis for the selection of species, the methodology and the concrete scope of the fauna survey. The spatial scope of the investigation (species-specific investigation areas and sample areas) can be found for each species group in the overview map (Annex 2). The following surveys and records are to be provided in accordance with the specifications from the faunistic spatial planning analysis and the methodology sheets of the BMVI expert report (Final Report 2014): Structures • Tree cavity and crevice fauna • Wildcat • Field hamster • Hazel dormouse • Bat • Avifauna • Amphibians • Reptiles • Butterfly • Grasshopper The investigation period extends over the following seasons: • Main survey season 2027: The records of most species groups will take place in 2027. If the contract award date permits, the surveys will begin as early as mid-February 2027 with the single inspection for owl birds and the records of early migrating amphibian species. • Survey season 2028: The specific recording of the wildcat will take place in the period from January to March 2028. If, at the time of the contract award, a professionally sound start of the early records in February 2027 (e.g. due to weather or lead times) is no longer possible, the recording of the owl birds and the early migrating amphibians will be postponed to the following spring of 2028.
