The coordination, support and promotion of volunteers active in various fields is highly varied and often organised independently of each other in the city of Delmenhorst. The city of Delmenhorst sees the need to consolidate the core tasks of advice and mediation, networking, qualification and public relations in the various areas of voluntary activities, independent of individual areas of deployment, and to establish a central volunteer agency to better utilise synergies. Furthermore, with the establishment of a central volunteer agency, measures and projects are to be developed that recognise and acknowledge civic engagement more strongly.
