France – Refuse and waste related services – Marché national : Enlèvement et élimination des appareils HTB et HTA contenant du SF6

The contract concerns the removal and disposal of end-of-life or damaged SF6-containing HTB and HTA equipment in France. Enedis provides the contractor with information on the organisation of transport and treatment of the equipment. SF6, used for its insulating and arc-extinguishing properties in high-voltage electrical equipment, is a highly harmful greenhouse gas. In accordance with European Regulation 517/2014 and Enedis' commitments, SF6 recovery must reach at least 90% for regeneration, with a priority on the valorisation of solid materials. These services entrusted by the Company under this contract concern:

Removal:

- handling (loading and unloading)

- packaging if necessary (palletising, with possibly the implementation of specific measures for withdrawable circuit breakers from source substations)

- transport and take-over in accordance with the applicable regulations

- gas extraction while minimising the leakage rate into the atmosphere

- if necessary, the purification of the extracted gas or, if impossible, its destruction or return for destruction or reprocessing to the gas manufacturer

- if necessary, the neutralisation of solid decomposition products (powders, molecular sieves, etc.) contained in the equipment emptied of their gas

- disposal of neutralised equipment by appropriate means, prioritising material recycling and minimising landfill disposal.
