The purpose of this tender is the large-scale renovation of the HIL and the expansion of the area by means of extensions and the conversion or expansion of parts of the HIG garage. The HIL is the central building of the D-ARCH and, alongside the building HIF, also serves the D-BAUG. Currently, the building has 840 workplaces (490 FTE). By the time of occupation, this number is estimated to increase to 1,100 (630 FTE), due to slight growth of the two departments, as well as the integration of D-ARCH users from the buildings ONA and HIT, and a few D-BAUG users from the HPV. The current number of students in the two departments ARCH and BAUG is approximately 3,500 (as of 2025). The HIL offers 1,900 lecture hall and seminar room places and additionally large drawing halls, also for examinations. In general, the current HIL uses remain unchanged in the HIL, these are: * Research / Teaching D-ARCH * Research / Teaching D-BAUG * Teaching and learning spaces for instruction (existing rectorate areas) * Exhibitions * Gastronomy The following uses are no longer planned in the renovated HIL, but are planned in the new building HWS for functional reasons: * Construction library * Service Centre of the Future * gta archive
