Description

The HOCHBAHN intends to award the necessary planning services in stages. The structure A (005) - Schlachthofgelände Tunnel is an operational tunnel on the U3 line (A section) between the Sternschanze (SZ) and Feldstraße (FE) stations. The structure A (006) - Laeiszstraße Retaining Wall is located between the Feldstraße station and the tunnel portal of the aforementioned structure A (005) in the open section of the U3 line. Both structures are located between the Hamburg districts of Altona (Sternschanze neighbourhood) and Mitte (Karolinenviertel neighbourhood). The Schlachthofgelände Tunnel, structure A (005), was built in 1912 and is approximately 495 m long. To the north, the Sternschanze (SZ) station adjoins. At the southern tunnel entrance, there is a portal frame, which is also to be renewed. The northern tunnel section (length approx. 110 m) below the car park and the Lagerstraße will be renewed as part of the Sternschanze (SZ) station renewal, so that only the major damages are to be repaired as part of this measure. At the southern tunnel section below the Schlachthofgelände (length approx. 385 m), extensive renovation is to be carried out, so that the tunnel can be used for at least 30 more years. In this context, it is to be expected that a large part of the ceiling panels will need to be renewed. The tunnel is built over by a car park, the Lagerstraße and the Schlachthofgelände. The Laeiszstraße Retaining Wall, structure A (006), adjoins directly to the south at the tunnel entrance and consists of a total of six structures with a total length of approximately 360 m. The three largest and oldest gravity walls were built in 1912. In 1961, other areas of the retaining wall were expanded by a concrete sheet pile system. In the southern area, an emergency exit was built in 2004 in the south-western area of the retaining wall due to the missing second access to the Feldstraße (FE) station. In 2034, the platforms of the Feldstraße station are to be extended. The resulting shift in the alignment means that the concrete sheet pile system built in 1961 must be demolished and replaced by a new structure. In the immediate vicinity of this new structure to be built, there is a deep-founded car park and a cultural centre. The following measures are to be carried out in essence: - External renovation of the Schlachthofgelände Tunnel (renewal of the sealing) - Internal renovation of the Schlachthofgelände Tunnel (concrete and steel renovation and renewal of ceiling panels and steel components) - Renovation of the three gravity walls (year of construction 1912) of the Laeiszstraße Retaining Wall - Demolition and renewal of the retaining wall areas outside the gravity walls and adaptation to the new alignment. The contract involves extensive and demanding renovation and demolition work as well as renewals on reinforced concrete and steel components with high requirements for occupational safety and execution quality. In addition, due to the confined space conditions in the inner-city location in the Hamburg Schanzenviertel or Karolinenviertel, there are high requirements for construction logistics. As a BE area, only public areas in the immediate vicinity of the structures, such as parts of the Laeiszstraße, can be used. The confined space conditions on site must be taken into account. The construction measure is to be implemented as far as possible during an interruption of U-Bahn operations. A period from 09.2026 to 06.2028 is available for the planning of the construction measure. The construction measure is to be carried out in a period of 9 months (02/2029 to 10/2029).
