In connection with the extension of the Stadtbahn line 1 from Senne to Sennestadt, the existing loop, including the station canopy at the Senne terminus, is to be dismantled and converted into a storage facility with a storage hall for Stadtbahn vehicles. The planning area covers an area of approximately 5,924 m². The new storage hall is to provide a storage facility for Stadtbahn vehicles that is suitable for operational, structural and fire safety purposes. The planning area borders directly on a Natura 2000 habitat area, the protection of which must be taken into account in the planning process. The existing loop will be bounded by the new track layout of the Stadtbahn extension to Sennestadt and a new pedestrian and cycle path to be constructed. South-east of the planning area there is also an existing pumping station of a feeder water pipeline, which is to be permanently preserved. The planning of the storage hall is to be carried out within the defined construction boundaries and is to be aligned so that interventions in nature and landscape are limited to the necessary extent.
