The RVK is a transport company whose core transport area covers the district of Euskirchen, the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis and the left-bank Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. Services are provided on its own lines as well as on behalf of other transport companies. As part of the construction project, the RVK intends to build an operating yard for hydrogen fuel cell and battery-electric buses. The approximately 13,500 m² construction site is located in Bensberg, a district of the city of Bergisch-Gladbach. The area is located east of the L195 Friedrich-Ebert-Straße and west of Steinhaus. The site will feature a support structure with a hydrogen production plant, an office and administration building with a parking deck and inspection hall, 3 bus carports, a portal washing system for buses and the associated traffic areas. The site will also feature an asphalted traffic area and two heated ramps, as well as the drainage of the site. The traffic area covers approximately 8,000 m², and the area of the ramps is approximately 550 m². Approximately 520 m of canal, plus the associated manholes and connecting pipes, are to be created for drainage. In addition, approximately 4,200 m of cable ducts with the corresponding cable pull pits are to be laid. The services to be tendered include, inter alia, earthworks, drainage canal works, pressure pipelines for wastewater, cable duct excavation works and road and path works.
