The extensive planned renovation measures will be divided into several sub-projects (TP) and implemented successively. The measures will be financed by the Stiftung Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche (SKWG)'s own funds, funds from the Landeskirche EKBO, federal funds (BKM), grants from the State of Berlin, and other funders and donations. The subsidy and procurement law requirements must be taken into account on a sub-project basis. The individual sub-projects (TP) are: TP B (Facade renovation of the bell tower) TP C (Tower ruin) TP D/F (Church building services and fire protection renovation, church facade renovation) With the measures for the renovation and further development of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche complex, the aim is to bring the building complex, as a national monument, back to the best possible condition in terms of construction and usability, so that the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche can optimally function as a city church, as a place of identification for the German capital, and as a place of remembrance and engagement with the current tasks of peace and reconciliation. The Stiftung Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche as the owner and the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirchengemeinde as the user should also be enabled to maintain the entire building complex with its structurally high maintenance requirements continuously. For this purpose, technical measures to facilitate future structural monitoring and maintenance are planned, as well as measures to reduce energy consumption and other running cost factors, and measures to achieve regular operating income, in order to cover the high maintenance costs.
