The Landkreis Augsburg intends to carry out the renovation of the damaged roof surfaces of the Schmuttertal Gymnasium Diedorf during ongoing school operations. The four buildings were constructed in 2014/2015. The roofs in question are low-pitched gable roofs (9.5 degrees), with the south-facing halves of the roofs extended beyond the ridge as a mono-pitch roof to optimise the PV system. All roofs are highly insulated and covered with an EPDM waterproofing membrane. To achieve the planning goal of a plus-energy building, PV systems with a total capacity of approximately 439 kWp are installed on the 4 south-facing roofs. The roof edges and the northern roof surfaces are designed as green roofs. All roofs show partial severe moisture damage in the roof structure, which is why the entire roof structure must be renewed. The renovation measure essentially comprises the dismantling of the damaged roof structure down to the vapour barrier and the new construction of the roof structure.
