DB InfraGO AG plans the general rehabilitation of the Fulda-Hanau Kinzigtal line. A 5-month total closure is planned from 13.08.2027 for the construction works. Signal conversions and new constructions will be carried out in the Schlüchtener Tunnel to achieve the equipment target image of a gapless ESTW operation (ETCS ready) between Hanau and Fulda. The investment sum for this project is estimated at EUR 1,397 million. Of this, approximately EUR 83,276 million has already been settled via an existing contract. The newly tendered insurance contract will replace the existing contract. A construction period until 04.02.2028 is currently planned. The insurance contract will begin after the completion of the tendering procedure with the date of the award following a currently existing preliminary cover. (Type M) The liability insurance has a cover sum of EUR 25,000,000 per claim for personal, property, and financial losses, including environmental liability insurance. The planning liability insurance has a separate cover sum of EUR 10,000,000 per claim for property and financial losses. The aforementioned sums are tripled. The Extendend Maintenance in the construction and assembly insurance part amounts to 42 months. The subsequent liability in the liability insurance is 10 years, in the environmental liability and environmental damage insurance 5 years. The general deductible is at least EUR 25,000. The deductible is waived for personal injuries. The extended planning cover is included in the planning liability insurance. The deductible in the extended planning cover is EUR 100,000.
