The Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Aviation (BMFTR) promotes research, technologies and aviation in Germany. Science and research, innovations and new technologies are the basis for future prosperity. Together, they form the foundation for economic success and progress, for growth and employment. Aviation technologies and their applications are important instruments of the modern information and industrial society. The official public relations and specialist information work of the BMFTR is, within the framework of its constitutionally recognised mandate, aimed at targeted and understandable information about the work, projects and goals of the ministry. Government action should be presented in a comprehensible manner and enable public discourse on this. For this purpose, events, trade fair participation and exhibitions are used, which are the subject of this order. Only those events, trade fair participations and exhibitions fall under this order which are recognisable as a public relations measure. Recognisable public relations measures include those which are aimed at a broad or general public or at clearly defined external target groups (e.g. specialist public, associations, multipliers, media or interested citizens) and serve to fulfil the constitutionally recognised mandate of the Federal Government to inform the public about political projects, measures and programmes and to explain them.
