Description

Hamburg Energiewerke GmbH (HEnW) is a 100% municipal energy supplier. To achieve the climate goals of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the share of coal-based district heating is to be reduced from the current approximately 64% to zero by 2030. To this end, the "Tiefstack Transformation (TiTra)" program has been initiated. At the Heizkraftwerk (HKW) Tiefstack site, two hard coal-fired steam generators currently produce electricity and district heating in CHP operation. The decarbonisation of this site involves substituting the fuel hard coal with natural gas (H-gas). Additionally, the steam generators are to be able to operate temporarily with low-sulphur heating oil EL (HEL according to DIN 51603-1). In addition to the pure fuel conversion, efficiency measures are being implemented. Lot 4 contributes to this by extracting waste heat from the flue gas upstream of the induced draft fan and feeding it into the heating water network.
