The municipality of Muttenz plans the renovation and partial re-use of a multi-storey existing building within the „Mittenza“ complex in the historic town centre. The complex comprises several buildings; the subject of the present project is exclusively the former hotel and conference building. The building, constructed around 1975, is part of an ensemble of regional significance and is under cantonal monument protection. After a phase of partial vacancy, the building will be renovated and put to a new use. The large hall will be retained for cultural and social events. In addition, spaces for administration, the general music school, and further association and community uses will be created. The subject of this tender is the timber window works for the renovation and re-use of the former hotel and conference building. The contract includes the refurbishment of existing timber windows, the replacement of glazing, the manufacture and installation of new window sashes, and the partial replacement of existing timber window systems including fittings, glazing, seals, and all necessary ancillary services. The contract also includes soundproofing windows, adaptation work on existing structures, frame widenings, sealing work, and coordination with adjacent trades according to tender documents and bill of quantities. The building is located in an urban environment. During the construction period, particular consideration must be given to the local conditions, the site logistics, and to residents and adjacent public uses.
