The municipality of Oberzier (approx. 3,300 inhabitants) is one of the largest villages in the municipality of Niederzier (approx. 15,000 inhabitants), alongside the villages of Niederzier and Huchem-Stammeln. However, currently, this village lacks meeting points for gatherings and public spaces for interaction. Previous meeting places and gastronomy offers have had to close or been repurposed. The alternative meeting rooms in other districts do not have the spatial capacities suitable for group sizes of 20-100 people and are not barrier-free accessible. A comparison with the planned premises of the Ellbachzentrum has been taken into account in the needs assessment. The existing clubhouse of BC Oberzier also no longer meets the requirements of the target user groups and is in urgent need of renovation. Against this background, the multifunctional B3-Haus is to be created at the site of the former clubhouse as a "community centre for meeting and movement". The aim is to create a central, inclusive and flexibly usable location that, in particular, meets the need for spaces for social interaction, cultural offerings, small municipal events, meetings, intergenerational formats and low-threshold group offerings, and thus compensates for existing infrastructural deficits in the village of Oberzier.
