The State of Hesse and Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen intend to construct a new institute building for the Department of Psychology. The building will house the currently only German Excellence Cluster with a psychological focus. It will apply research using the most modern methods of behavioural and neurosciences. The processing of the research programme in interdisciplinary teams requires an expansion and spatial integration of researchers from various specialisations in an integrative building, room and large equipment concept. The building will be erected at the northern boundary of the Campus for Humanities and Social Sciences in the area of the Philosophikum I, in the immediate vicinity of the "International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture" (GCSC).
