Description

The Flughafen München GmbH (FMG) intends to upgrade the signage to LED technology, thereby also reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the current inventory. The signage currently consists of approximately 650 signs with conventional fluorescent tubes. These signs are manufactured by NKI with varying lengths from 715mm to 5015mm. The new LED signs must be supplied and installed in product-dependent standard lengths of approximately 1m to and including 3m. Using these standard lengths, as few partial signs as possible should be used per sign location. At a few locations, there are currently still unlit signs, and at individual points, signs are currently missing according to today's EASA requirements. Through this project, all existing signs are to be replaced with LED technology signs. At the same time, an EASA adaptation of the signs will take place, using signs that are a maximum of 3m long, and a minor addition of signs currently missing. All new signs at FMG will be realised with a character height of 400mm and thus a visible panel height of 800mm. The requirements for breakability according to Aerodrome Design Manual Part 6 with intended break points in the bases including secondary plug connections in the bases must be met. The signs in the runway area will be designed up to and including the CAT I holding point signage for 480km/h, in the taxiway area for 320km/h. For conventional failure reporting, all sign electronics must have the fail-open function. For the power supply, the 22 primary power circuits currently in use in series circuit technology with 6.6A rated current must continue to be used. The current circuit assignment of the signs to these remains unchanged. All circuits must be converted to SELV compliance according to IEC61820 as part of the sign renewal. No additional limiters or the like are permitted on the secondary side for this purpose. For the power supply of the LEDs in the signs, one SELV secondary transformer with a maximum of 65VA and a secondary feed line of up to 2 x 6mm² is permitted per sign. This and to reduce future energy consumption, the maximum permissible power consumption of a sign in all lengths to be delivered is limited to a maximum of 65VA per sign and must be taken into account in the product selection. The secondary transformers are, in 19 of the 22 power circuits, usually housed in the small shaft at the sign base. In the other 3 power circuits, in the nearest larger lighting shaft. The secondary cables will be completely renewed, their cross-sections will be adapted according to the product's requirements. On the primary side, the existing primary transformers from 1990 and analogue constant current controllers from the former manufacturer AEG/DASA (now Honeywell) will continue to be used. The primary cables will continue to be used and are designed with FLYCY cables from 1/2kV to 5/10kV. The associated signage switching systems are distributed in 6 lighting stations across the entire campus. The construction measure is completely in the non-public area of Munich Airport. The work along the runways and the adjacent taxiways up to and including the CAT II/III holding point signage is planned as night work. For all other taxiway areas, approximately 40% night work and approximately 60% day work is expected. A large part of the work will take place during ongoing flight operations. Necessary closure work on the taxiways for 1-day and up to a maximum of 3-day closures per construction section must be carried out according to the FMG Airport Manual after detailed coordination. The signs will initially be reinstalled on the existing bases. Necessary slot productions in the bases for secondary cable routing and backfilling are also part of the scope of services. Necessary work to extend the existing bases or to create new bases will be carried out by third parties. A plausible, traceable SELV circuit calculation based on the LV quantities and the execution planning and taking into account the products offered by the bidder is a prerequisite for an award in the tendering procedure.
