Netherlands – Construction work – AI 2024-0113 Dakrenovatie Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

Gemeente Amsterdam, IngenieursbureauNetherlandsPublished on Jun 02, 2026
No deadline given

Description

The project concerns the restoration, renovation and sustainability of the roofs and ceilings of the old building of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (approximately 4,500 m²). The reason for the project is structural leaks and deferred maintenance. These deficiencies pose risks to both the museum's collection and the continuity of the museum's operations. The contract includes both the preparation and execution of the roof renovation. This is an integral project in which building, structural and technical installation works are carried out in conjunction. The works consist mainly of:

• Replacing the existing roof covering and zinc roof parts;

• Replacing roof lights and light wells, including associated structures;

• Replacing the glass ceilings under the light wells;

• Carrying out local structural adaptations for new roof and daylight structures;

• Restoring and returning the characteristic daylight system;

• Implementing sustainability measures within the conditions of the national monument, including improving insulation values and applying water retention;

• Replacing air-conditioning installations above the roof;

• Realising temporary and permanent provisions and safety measures necessary for execution above an operational museum.
