Germany – Architectural services for outdoor areas – Interdisziplinärer Wettbewerb zur Gestaltung der Überdachung des Zentralen Omnibusbahnhofes Offenburg

With the redesign of the Central Bus Station (ZOB) as part of the urban development of the station quarter, a functional, high-quality and future-proof canopy is to be realised. The new ZOB, whose foundations were created through the urban design-open space-planning-traffic-functional competition 2021/22 and the framework plan decision of the municipal council of 18.12.2023, will in future comprise 16 bus bays and form a central component of the quarter's development. The total area of the new ZOB is approximately 6,000 m² and, in addition to the bus bays, includes generous pedestrian, waiting and resting areas. An interdisciplinary implementation competition is now to qualify the architectural and landscape architectural concept for the canopy of the ZOB and the functional building, including design-dependent designed open spaces. The basis for this is a transport infrastructure planning that defines the traffic conditions.
